Alone at Home, originally commissioned by the U.K.’s Channel 4, is now headed to RTL Germany and RTL Netherlands.

RTL Netherlands has commissioned six episodes, with production to begin in December for a 2019 premiere. RTL Germany’s series will be produced by Sony Pictures Television Germany.

The fixed-rig series Alone at Home watches as kids spend four days by themselves at home with no parents and no rules. It was created by Electric Ray and is distributed by Sony Pictures Television.

Meredith Chambers, managing director at Electric Ray, said: “Alone at Home has the sort of risky headline that all great fact ent hits need but it takes an honest and heartfelt look at one of the most important questions for viewers everywhere—how should we bring up our kids? We can’t wait to bring the show to more territories—and see what adventures the children have as Alone at Home travels internationally.”

Sarah Edwards, creative director at Sony Pictures Television, said: “Alone at Home resonated with the international market straight away because parenting is a global subject. Electric Ray has hit on something that is very current and we could see buyers wondering, What would my kids do? We are really excited about how children around the world cope with this challenge.”
