LONDON: NBCUniversal International Formats has inked a deal with Central Media Enterprises (CME) that will see the game show Hollywood Game Night air on CME’s channels in Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Hollywood Game Night, which will be titled Celebrity Game Night in Eastern Europe, looks on as celebrities and members of the public compete in a series of party games for a cash prize that is given to the non-famous contestants. The new agreement sees the format headed to Nova TV in Czech Republic, bTV in Bulgaria, ProTV in Romania and Markiza in Slovakia.

Hollywood Game Night was created by actor/producer Sean Hayes and producer Todd Milliner. The U.S. version, which began airing on NBC in 2013, is hosted by comedienne Jane Lynch. There are currently 17 local treatments of the show, including in French Canada, Hungary, Iceland, Greece, Turkey, Thailand, France, Spain, Russia, Ukraine and Indonesia.

Yvonne Pilkington, the senior VP of format sales and production at NBCUniversal International Studios, stated: “It’s great to see the success of Hollywood Game Night traveling into new territories. We couldn’t be happier to be entering this flagship deal with CME and having seen the format transformed in other territories, we’re sure it will be a success across the enterprise.”

Tubi Neustadt, the content production director for CME, added: “Celebrity Game Night is an exciting addition to our 2016-2017 network slate. This groundbreaking deal with NBCUniversal International Formats is a testament to the scalability of the show and its success across the globe. We look forward to bringing it to our audiences across Eastern Europe.”
