MTV Super Shore is returning for a third season that will be filmed in Italy for the first time in the show’s history.

The international co-production between MTV’s Latin America and Southern and Western Europe, Africa and the Middle East business units will begin production on its third season, MTV Super Shore: All’Italiana, this weekend in Rimini, Italy. The show will air on MTV channels across 26 countries in Latin America, including Mexico and Brazil. It will also air across six European markets, including Italy, France and Spain this fall.

MTV Super Shore is the fifth international edition of MTV’s Shores franchise, joining Geordie Shore (U.K.), Warsaw Shore (Poland), Gandía Shore (Spain), Acapulco Shore (Mexico) and the original Jersey Shore (U.S.). MTV Super Shore season three will be produced by Spanish production company La Competencia and will feature an international cast.

Pete Flamman, the senior VP for MTV Southern and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, “I’m delighted to announce that Super Shore will be back for a third season and that we are producing it for the first time in Italy. The new location and our diverse multi-national cast once again reinforces the glocal appeal of the show. We are especially happy to be working with the city of Rimini, who are fantastic partners and the perfect hosts for this ultimate party, this time with an Italian twist.”

Tiago Worcman, the senior VP and brand manager for MTV Latin America and Brazil, commented, “With its larger-than-life characters and highly relatable stories about friendship, MTV Super Shore has proven MTV’s ability to deliver compelling content that engages young audiences and breaks barriers across the world. We’re excited to confirm that this third season, the idyllic Italian destination of Rimini is just the beginning of many surprises and jaw-dropping moments that will sure help make this installment another multi-territory and multiplatform success.”

Andrea Gnassi, the mayor of Rimini, added, “We are very pleased to officially announce that Rimini has been chosen as the city to set the new season of MTV Super Shore. Rimini is one of the coolest Italian tourist destinations for young people from around the world and we hope that the Super Shore cast will enjoy all that the city has to offer. This is the first time that the show comes to Italy, in a summer that sees Rimini and the Riviera of Rimini coming back to the fore as a location for films, TV shows and advertising. We hope the cast has the opportunity to enjoy the true experience of a romagnola summer.”
