Channel One in Russia launched Russian Ninja, a local version of the Ninja Warrior format.

The original format, known as Sasuke, is owned by Tokyo Broadcasting Systems and is distributed by DENTSU and The Story Lab in Europe. Channel One Russia, Red Square and Daily Heroes Media worked together on the production of the local treatment, which premiered in Russia earlier this month to an 18 percent audience share. The Russian version marks the 17th local adaptation of the format.

Ninja Warrior has aired in 165 countries. The format received an Emmy nomination for outstanding reality competition program in 2016.
