The reality format Grandpas Over Flowers, created by CJ E&M, is getting a local treatment for Turkey’s Show TV.

Local producer Bloom Medya has finished filming the first season of the new Turkish version. Shot in India, Nepal and Vietnam, the series features a female cast of entertainment legends. The local series is slated to air on Show TV in the summer. The deal with Show TV was secured by Small World IFT alongside Sera Film, its representative in Turkey.

Tim Crescenti, the president at Small World IFT, said, “I’m thrilled to announce this latest adventure for Grandpas Over Flowers in Turkey, as this fantastic family format continues to make its mark on the international stage, and thank our friends at Sera Film for their help in concluding this new deal. Grandpas Over Flowers is a hugely fun combination of humor, entertainment and adventure, and it delivers huge ratings across all demos! I can’t wait to see more living legends embark on a trip that will see them learn as much about themselves as viewers do about them!”

Idil Belli, the general manager at Sera Film, added, “We’re very pleased to collaborate with Small World in concluding this new deal with Show TV for Grandpas Over Flowers. It is a rare occasion that an unscripted title is commissioned for prime time in Turkey and this title has been seen as a strong alternative to dramas. It’s a great show for family audiences, and we know its lighthearted sense of fun and adventure will be a perfect fit for Turkish viewers.”
