LONDON: Following on from its investment in Simon Andreae’s Naked Entertainment, FremantleMedia is presenting two new reality-entertainment formats at MIPCOM in October.

Families Gone Wild and 100% Hotter are the first projects to come out of the creative partnership that was established between the companies in 2015 when FremantleMedia acquired a 25-percent stake in Naked Entertainment. FremantleMedia is handling global format rights for the titles.

The makeover format 100% Hotter aired on 5STAR in the U.K. earlier this year. Style-challenged contestants are nominated by friends or family to get a makeover from a panel of style experts. Before the style team tackles their project, the person’s style is rated by the general public. Then, the style gurus have 24 hours to transform the contestant’s look while maintaining his or her original character.

The four-part series Families Gone Wild is slated to air on Channel 5 in the U.K. It looks on as dysfunctional families are marooned on a tropical desert island, where they are forced to rely on each other for support. In order to survive, they must work together to bring out the best in each other and in their family as a unit. Each episode focuses on a different family.

Rob Clark, the director of global entertainment at FremantleMedia, said, “Our partnership with Naked Entertainment reflects our ambition to work with top creative talent. Simon’s trademark ability to deliver high-quality programming is unparalleled and we strongly believe in these formats because they’re fun, fresh and appeal to modern audiences.”

Simon Andreae, the CEO of Naked Entertainment, added, “We’re very excited at the potential of these formats. Each is simple, original and sticky. They’re deeply transformative for the participants and we believe [they] will be hugely relatable to audiences all around the world.”
