LONDON: FremantleMedia has secured seven new commissions for the reality format My First Holiday in territories such as Spain and Poland.

The format is being produced by FremantleMedia for RTVCM in Spain, TTV in Poland, VRT for Flanders and RTBF for French-speaking Belgium, as well as by No Pictures Please for RTL 5 in the Netherlands. Additionally, the format was licensed to JOJ in Slovakia. My First Holiday was first sold to Finland, where it has been renewed for a second season by the Finnish channel Jim/Nelonen Media.

My First Holiday is based on a concept from FremantleMedia Belgium and follows regular people as they travel to a foreign country for the first time. Each episode looks on as real people from different backgrounds and generations arrive at the airport, discover their destination and explore a different country.

Chris O’Dell, the head of global entertainment production at FremantleMedia, commented, “The key to the success of My First Holiday lies in its authentic and unfiltered look at the world. It’s rated incredibly well in Finland and has gone on to receive a fantastic reception from international broadcasters upon launching at MIPTV 2016. The deals from around the world reflect the endearing nature and broad appeal of this format.”
