LONDON: Following its launch in Italy, two local adaptations of Zodiak Rights’s brand-new format Undressed have been commissioned for TLC in the U.K. and Ireland, and in the Netherlands.

Following a first look deal with Discovery Networks, 20 half-hour episodes of Undressed have been commissioned by TLC for the U.K. and Ireland. It will be produced by Fizz, part of RDF Television. In addition, the format has been commissioned for TLC in the Netherlands, with the 12×30-minute series due to be produced by Zodiak Nederland.

Undressed was originally created and produced by Magnolia Italy, a Zodiak Media company, for youth channel Nove. It has been recommissioned for a sophomore season. The entertainment format sees two complete strangers meet for the first time and undress each other in a darkened bedroom. They have 30 minutes to get to know each other. When the time is up, they must decide whether to continue the date or leave the room.

Grant Ross, the executive VP of global creative development and format acquisitions at Zodiak Media, said, “We’re incredibly proud of Magnolia Italy for creating yet another innovative format for the group. The show is already a standout hit on Nove and is consistently delivering huge uplifts across all demos. Creativity remains at the heart of what we do and Undressed is testament to our continued investment into our creative talent and their ideas, which travel. As one of our strongest new formats we are pushing this one hard, both within and outside the footprint. We truly believe Undressed has the potential to be a big hit in many more territories.”

Zodiak Rights is part of the Banijay Group.
