Armoza Formats has done a deal with the German public broadcaster WDR for the new docu-reality format Back to Life.

The German deal marks the second territory to have taken the format, which was launched at MIPCOM. Back to Life, which follows the stories of patients and their families while they wait for a lifesaving organ donation, is set to air soon on Israel’s Channel 10 and was recently announced to be taken in Poland by production company Rochstar.

Philipp Bitterling, program developer and innovation coordinator at WDR, said: “This moving format is truly uplifting and perfectly suitable for public service broadcasters like WDR.”

Avi Armoza, the CEO of Armoza Formats, said: “What drew us to Back to Life was the unique opportunity it presented as a way to truly impact our viewers and to raise awareness for such an important issue. We are happy to see that others are just as moved by it as we are and proud that WDR will work on bringing this format to Germany.”
