ITV4 Orders Twofour’s Take the Tower

ITV4 has commissioned Twofour to produce the entertainment show Take the Tower.

Hosted by Dolph Lundren (Rocky movies, The Expendables), the six-part series draws inspiration from Hollywood action movies. It challenges contestants to take on a combination of physical tasks and quiz questions. Contestants who make their way to the top of the “tower” win the prize to take their friends on vacation. The show taps into classic movie tropes.

Melanie Leach, the chief executive at Twofour, said, “This is probably the most bonkers idea we’ve had the good fortune to make. But in the words of the A Team, it’s so crazy, it just might work.”

Paul Mortimer, the head of digital channels and acquisitions at ITV, added, “Take the Tower will anchor a night of new, original series this coming autumn on ITV4 as we push forward with a commissioning strategy that puts male-skewed entertainment at the heart of prime time on the channel.”
