Mathieu Béjot, the executive director of TV France International, is leaving as of April 30 after 18 years at the head of the organization.

Hervé Michel, president of TV France International, will be working to ensure a smooth continuity of TV France International’s activities until a new executive director is appointed.

Michel commented: “I’ve known Mathieu for many years and it’s been a great pleasure working with him. Under his leadership, TV France International has become a unique and respected international player. With his team, he has facilitated a strong growth of French TV exports (up 40 percent over the past five years). Mathieu headed TV France International into a digital shift by developing Screenopsis, the online B2B database and screening room of French production. I’m sad to see Mathieu go and I wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Béjot added: “The international exposure of French TV production has become economically and culturally essential. I am proud to have supported the success of French exports while the global industry was going through dramatic changes. France has become one of the top exporting countries for TV programs, and the development of non-linear platforms offers new growth prospects despite fierce international competition. It is with mixed emotion that I’m leaving my position. For their trust and support, I thank all of TV France International’s presidents and coards, its staff, its member companies and partners (CNC, Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Procirep) and all the industry professionals associated with TV France International.”
