Sony Pictures Television in JV with Russia’s National Media Group

Sony Pictures Television and the Russian media holding company National Media Group (NMG) have set up a joint venture to operate Sony’s pay-TV channels in Russia.

NMG is buying 80 percent of a company-operator broadcasting Sony channels in Russia. Under this agreement, advertising will be sold on the channels Sony Turbo, Sony Sci-Fi and Sony Entertainment by NMG.

Olga Paskina, CEO of NMG, said: “Partnering with Sony, a world’s major company, extends the presence of NMG in the pay-TV segment, completing our package with unique brands. Sony Pictures is a key business player, which makes it possible to count on expanding the formats of cooperation in the future.”
