Dori Media Group has licensed Las Estrellas to Fox Networks Group in Italy, marking the third global sale of the popular romantic comedy from Argentina.

Las Estrellas (5 Stars) tells the story of five sisters who must come together to manage a boutique hotel after the death of their father. The 120-episode show is produced by Dori Media in association with Pol-Ka Producciones. It has previously been sold into Israel and Indonesia.

Nadav Palti, the CEO and president of Dori Media Group, remarked: “Las Estrellas is a truly charming format and we are delighted to see that it is going global through the third international sale to the Italian Fox Networks Group. The show has reached an 80-percent ratings increase on average [in its] 9:30 p.m. time slot in Argentina. The series has won the hearts and minds of a young audience of vicenarians, and we can see how popular it is by the feedback on social media. The format can travel worldwide, proved by huge success in Argentina, Israel and Indonesia. The concept, the storylines and even the look of the cast can be suitable all over the world. When we work on new productions for the local market we think of the global market as well, starting from the early stages of the production, in order to meet the market globalization demand.”

Alessandro Saba, the VP of entertainment channels at Fox Networks Group Italy, added: “There is no doubt Italian viewers will be fascinated by the manner in which the young women are leaving their lives behind for the wellbeing of their father’s legacy, but also how the themes of love, friendship and family are utterly universal, which has [made] the series so popular. We very much look forward to and appreciate the opportunity of working closely with Dori Media on this exciting project.”
