ProSiebenSat.1 Digital and Line Corporation, a leading mobile platform based in Tokyo, are cooperating to launch LINE LIVE, a new mobile live-streaming platform in Germany.
The new user-generated content app LINE LIVE caters to the trend among the young target group aged 17-plus of sharing their lives with the world in live streams and being rewarded for this with “gift items” such as unicorns or hearts. Launched on December 10, 2015, in Japan, LINE LIVE managed to surpass 350 million aggregate views in just its first six months. The service currently has more than 24 million monthly active users in Japan.
Christian Dankl, the chairman of the management board of ProSiebenSat.1 Digital, said: “The new LINE LIVE platform is our response to the global live streaming trend. In Asia, LINE LIVE is already recording enormous growth in user numbers, engagement and monetization.
