FremantleMedia International has appointed Nick Pawsey as its new VP of sales and distribution, with oversight across CEE, Russia and CIS.

Pawsey will be responsible for continuing the company’s growth throughout the CEE region, as well as maximizing content opportunities across all broadcasters and platform partners. He will report to Jamie Lynn, the executive VP, head of sales and distribution across EMEA at FremantleMedia International.

Most recently, Pawsey was serving as director of sales, strategy and development at NBCUniversal International Television. Pawsey also previously held positions at Antenna Group, Planet TV Slovenia, Prva TV Serbia, Antenna TV Greece, Wall to Wall Media and Warner Bros. International Television.

Lynn commented: “Nick is a rare executive with broad mix of experience across sales, strategy and acquisitions, as well as strong local knowledge in specific CEE regions. As FMI look to further capitalize on opportunities in these increasingly important and evolving territories, Nick is an ideal candidate. He has demonstrated a strong track record in structuring deals, while bringing a fresh perspective that is vital to an ever complex distribution business. A perfect addition to the FMI team.”

Pawsey added: “I am thrilled to have joined FMI and looking forward to working with the team to build its business across the region. It’s a company that I’ve admired for a long time and with its impressive slate, their continued push into impressive new dramas and season renewals for globally acclaimed titles such as American Gods and The New Pope, it’s a very exciting time to join the company.”
