Global Digital Head Named for Banijay Group, France


Shine France alum Lionel Abbo has become the global head of digital for Banijay Group and Banijay France.

In his new role, Lionel will oversee and coordinate the digital business across the Banijay Group and for Banijay France. Based in Paris, he will report to CEO Marco Bassetti for the group and François de Brugada for France.

Lionel has been serving as Shine France’s deputy managing director of Creation Developpement 360˚ since 2009. He began his career as a producer for MTV Networks before joining Endemol France. After that, he was head of content at Tribal DDB Paris.

Bassetti remarked: “Expanding our global digital business continues to be a key ongoing strategy across the group—and I’m delighted to welcome Lionel to the Banijay team in this new role. Lionel’s extensive knowledge, contacts and business acumen will be an invaluable asset as we maximize opportunities in this vibrant and rapidly evolving sector.”

Abbo added: “The Banijay Group is home to some of the international industry’s best creative talents and I’m looking forward to working closely with them to develop and lead the company’s digital strategies.
