VICELAND has secured another distribution deal in Benelux through a partnership with Proximus, following the network’s launch in the territory in March.

In Belgium, the channel partnered with Proximus to launch its first channel in Wallonia from June 1, with additional distribution extending to Flanders and Brussels. In Belgium, VICELAND will be available to Proximus subscribers in French and Flemish. At launch in Wallonia, subtitled and dubbed French programming will include flagship content such as Needles & Pins with Grace Neutral, Noisey with Zach Gouldbaum and season two of Gaycation with Ellen Page.

The deal also bolsters VICELAND’s multiplatform offering, with rights granted as part of Proximus’s TV Everywhere service, making the network’s content available on catch-up, as well as on second-screen devices through live TV, TV replay and VOD in the future. VICELAND’s co-presidents, Guy Slattery and Derek Freda, are overseeing the development of the channel internationally, from show creation to production to brand identity.

Stefan Tieleman, the general manager of VICELAND Benelux, commented, “Only two months after our initial launch in Benelux, this additional deal in Belgium is testament to our ongoing growth ambitions in the territory. Proximus is an ideal home for the channel, sharing a core belief that VICELAND’s storytelling and award-winning content should be accessible to audiences the way they want to view it: across all screens, anytime, anywhere.”
