Sony Launching True Crime Channel in the U.K.

LONDON: Sony Pictures Television will launch a new U.K. channel brand, True Crime, on March 22 on Freeview.

The network, dedicated to crime programming, is the latest addition to the True channel portfolio, alongside True Entertainment (and +1), True Movies 1, True Movies 2 and True Drama. True Crime’s lineup will feature real-life stories, murder mysteries and law-breaking action.

Kate Marsh, executive VP for Western Europe at Sony’s international networks, said: “True Crime will be a dedicated crime channel, where viewers who are fascinated by true-life stories will be able to have everything in one place. The channel further builds on the success of our Freeview channel portfolio and marks our commitment to the U.K. television market.”
