HBO Europe Revamps CEE Channels

BUDAPEST: HBO is planning to relaunch its channels in Central and Eastern Europe, rebranding HBO Comedy as HBO3.

HBO will be the main flagship channel for fiction and docs from the U.S. as well as programming produced in the region. HBO2 brings together an array of family-oriented programming. Comedy, family and children’s movies will be offered during the day, while the evening viewing features drama, comedy, thriller and action movies. HBO2 will now be available in Romania, Bulgaria and Adria territories for the first time.

Meanwhile, HBO Comedy will become HBO3. The service will offer full seasons of recent and cult favorite U.S. programming, as well as HBO Europe local originals.

HBO broadcasts in 14 countries across the region, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzogovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Macedonia. Subscribers to HBO Nordic and HBO Netherlands are unaffected by these changes.
