U.S. Prime Suspect Heading to U.K.’s Universal Channel

LONDON: Universal Channel has acquired the exclusive U.K. rights for the U.S. version of Prime Suspect from ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

Prime Suspect USA was originally shown on NBC and produced by Universal Media Studios, ITV Studios America and Film 44. The series is inspired by the U.K. show of the same name. Maria Bello (A History of Violence) stars in the U.S. version.

David Ball, the channel director for Universal Channel, said: “Universal Channel is the natural U.K. home of Prime Suspect USA, the American reboot of one of the biggest crime franchises of the past two decades. The series is U.S. procedural crime drama at its very best and we are extremely proud to give it a prime position in our summer lineup of new premium content.”
