Video Interview with SS-GB’s Neal Purvis & Sally Woodward Gentle

NEW YORK: TV Drama‘s Mansha Daswani sat down with Neal Purvis and Sally Woodward Gentle to discuss the ambitious process of bringing the novel SS-GB to life for TV.

Set in a German-occupied Britain post-WWII, the new drama SS-GB debuted on Sunday on BBC One. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Len Deighton, based on the premise that the Germans won the Battle of Britain. It was adapted for the small screen by James Bond scribes Purvis and Robert Wade.

The thriller stars Sam Riley as Douglas Archer and Kate Bosworth as Barbara Barga, and SS-GB is executive produced by Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Purvis and Wade. Thanks to presales from BBC Worldwide, a slew of international broadcasters are already lined up to air the drama, including in territories ranging from Germany to Iceland, the Middle East to Australia.
