Tupac-Biggie Smalls True-Crime Drama Gets Pilot Order

LOS ANGELES: USA Network has given a pilot order to the scripted true-crime drama Unsolved, which chronicles the police investigations into the murders of rappers Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur.

The pilot is being directed and executive produced by Anthony Hemingway, the director/executive producer behind FX’s hit The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. The project is written by Kyle Long (Suits). From Universal Cable Productions, Unsolved is based on the experiences of former LAPD Detective Greg Kading, author of the book Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations.

Hemingway will executive produce with Mark Taylor through their Hemingway | Taylor production company, along with Long. Kading will be a consultant on the pilot script and also serve as co-executive producer.
