The hit drama series This Is Us is getting its first local adaptation, with MEDYAPIM set to produce a Turkish version for FOX.

Fox Networks Group (FNG) in Turkey has licensed the scripted format from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution (TCFTVD). Currently in preproduction, the Turkish version is slated to premiere in October on the FOX channel in Turkey. Fox Networks Group Content Distribution has acquired the distribution rights to the Turkish adaptation to sell internationally.

Dorothy Crompton, VP of format licensing at Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, will oversee the local adaptation’s production on behalf of TCFTVD. The Turkish version will be set in Istanbul and will cover season one of the U.S. storyline.

This Is Us is a number one show in the U.S. because it combines superb storytelling with compelling family themes and presents them in a truly unique and authentic manner,” said Gina Brogi, president of global distribution at Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution. “These themes are universal and ideal for local interpretation. We’re excited to be working with FNG in Turkey and MEDYAPIM on this first local adaptation of This Is Us.”
