LONDON: NBCUniversal International Networks has picked up the thriller Bitten from Entertainment One (eOne) to air on its Syfy channel in the U.K.

The series stars Laura Vandervoort (Smallville, Haven) as Elena Michaels, the world’s only female werewolf. Based on the New York Times best-selling novels by Kelley Armstrong, Bitten is produced by No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment and eOne, in association with Space and Bell Media. The show will make its debut on Syfy in the U.K. on May 19 at 9 p.m.

“With a fantastic cast and an engaging premise, Bitten fits our ‘Imagine Greater’ promise, making the series a great addition to Syfy’s prime-time lineup,” commented Colin McLeod, the managing director for the U.K. and emerging markets at NBCUniversal International Networks.

Bitten is a supernatural drama with gripping action and an engaging love triangle at the heart of the series,” added Stuart Baxter, the president of eOne Television International. “We’re delighted to bring this exciting series to U.K. audiences with Syfy.”
