Star India Drama Picked Up in Peru

Star India’s Marked By Destiny (Tumhari Paakhi) has been licensed in Peru, where the drama is now airing on Panamericana Televisión.

Marked By Destiny tells the story of Paakhi and Anshuman, who were married to each other as children. Eighteen years later, Paakhi is still waiting for Anshuman to acknowledge their marriage. The drama has already been on air in Europe and Asia.

The series is distributed by Latin Media Corp. in LatAm. Panamericana Televisión previously aired Star India’s Saras & Kumud (Saraswatichandra), which is also represented by Latin Media Corp. in the region.

The CEO of Latin Media Corp., José Escalante, said: “After the success of Saras & Kumud in Peru, we are really excited about Tumhari Paakhi, the second show from Star India distributed by Latin Media Corp. being aired on Panamericana. We are hopeful that the viewers will enjoy this interesting love story as much as they did with Saras & Kumud.”

Star India’s president of international business, Gurjeev Kapoor, added: “The success of our drama series Saras & Kumud across Latin America has been encouraging. It has proved that good storytelling can transcend borders. With the successful placement of our second show, Tumhari Paakhi, in Peru, we want to replicate this across the territory. Our partnership with Latin Media Corp. has been successful and their efforts have been instrumental in taking these two shows to more than six countries in this region. This success will pave the way for our range of international best sellers to entertain viewers in Latin America.’’
