Shooting Starts on El Fútbol no es así Book-to-Screen Adaptation

The series El Fútbol no es así, which is being developed and produced by Mediapro and DIRECTV Latin America, has begun shooting in Madrid.

The show is based on the novel of the same name by Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish La Liga, and Pedro Torrens. It is set in the first division of the Spanish soccer league and explores the world of its fans and the dark underbelly that has proliferated the sport.

Shooting on the eight-episode series will wrap in about ten weeks, taking place in Spain and Argentina. The drama will air on OnDIRECTV in Latin America and will be distributed internationally by Imagina International Sales.

Daniel Calparsoro (Cien años de perdón, A ciegas) is directing, while Eduardo Sacheri (El secreto de tus ojos) leads the writing team.
