LOS ANGELES: Netflix and Lionsgate have sealed a worldwide SVOD deal for the Oprah Winfrey drama Greenleaf, set against the backdrop of a sprawling Memphis megachurch.

The agreement gives Netflix the premiere rights in all territories outside the U.S. and Canada for the day after broadcast and shortly after its linear run in North America. Season one will drop on Netflix on March 3. Greenleaf‘s second season will debut on OWN on March 15.

Greenleaf is produced for OWN by Lionsgate in association with Harpo Films and Pine City. The series, which is from writer/producer Craig Wright (Lost, Six Feet Under, Brothers and Sisters) and executive producers Winfrey and Clement Virgo (The Book of Negroes), premiered last June as the number one series debut in OWN history and was 2016’s number one new cable series for women.
