TORONTO: Entertainment One (eOne) has entered into a global streaming rights agreement—excluding North America—with Netflix for the new Kiefer Sutherland-led conspiracy thriller Designated Survivor.

Designated Survivor, which debuted last night in the U.S. and Canada, follows a lower-level United States Cabinet member who is named president after a catastrophic attack kills everyone above him in the presidential line of succession. eOne handles the international rights for the show, which comes from eOne’s The Mark Gordon Company and ABC Studios.

Designated Survivor was created by David Guggenheim, who executive produces with Simon Kinberg, Sutherland, Mark Gordon, Nick Pepper, Suzan Bymel and Aditya Sood, alongside showrunner Jon Feldman. Jacqueline Sacerio oversees the project for The Mark Gordon Company.
