Dynamic Television has lined up global broadcasters for the Nelson Mandela miniseries Madiba, which has been licensed into France, Australia, Africa and Asia, among other markets.

The six-hour mini has been picked up by Numéro 23 in France; SBS in Australia; Discovery Networks for Africa, the Middle East and Turkey; C+ Overseas for French-speaking Africa; and FOX Asia for pan-Asia. Madiba is also headed to the Czech Republic on Czech TV and Greece on OTE, while DutchFilm Works acquired the series for the Benelux territories.

The miniseries, which premiered in the U.S. on BET last spring, is based on two Mandela books, Conversations with Myself and Nelson Mandela by Himself. July 18 marks what would have been Mandela’s 100th birthday.

Madiba is such an important event series as Nelson Mandela’s epic struggle and achievements must still profoundly resonate throughout the world today,” said Daniel March, the managing partner for Dynamic. “With the 100th birthday of Mandela coming up in July 2018 we are even prouder and thankful to our partners who will bring his incredible true story and celebrate his life to their audiences.”
