MIPCOM to Host Counterpart Screening

A special screening is being planned at MIPCOM for the new drama series Counterpart.

Counterpart is an espionage series about a mysterious world hidden beneath the surface of our everyday existence. From MRC, Anonymous Content and Gilbert Films, the series stars Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, La La Land) as Howard Silk, a lowly cog in the bureaucratic machinery of a Berlin-based UN spy agency.

The Counterpart screening, presented by Sony Pictures Entertainment, will take place in the Palais des Festivals on October 15 at 6:30 p.m. and will be open to all delegates. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the cast and producer of the show.

Laurine Garaude, the director of Reed MIDEM’s television division, said: “We are delighted to welcome back Sony Pictures Entertainment to MIPCOM for the second year running to showcase their latest drama series Counterpart during the MIPCOM Pre-Opening World Premiere Screening. Counterpart will be the first exclusive preview screened at the international marketplace, making the tradeshow a key event for buyers worldwide.”
