Mediapro & YLE Co-Developing Crime Thriller

BARCELONA: Spain’s Mediapro is working with the Finnish pubcaster YLE on the thriller The Paradise, which transports the Nordic Noir genre to the Mediterranean.

The thriller drama takes place in the Finnish community of the Spanish town Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol. The serenity of this small town gets disrupted by a series of crimes that can only be solved with the collaboration between the Finnish police forces and the local Spanish ones. The project is being developed by Ran Tellem and David Troncoso from Mediapro, and by Jarmo Lampela, head of drama at YLE, and Matti Laine, Noir author and one of the scriptwriters on Bordertown.

The Paradise marks the first time that a Spanish production company will work side by side with a Finnish broadcaster.
