CANNES: Rivals Forever—The Sneaker Battle, which tells the true story of global shoe brands Adidas and Puma, has been sold by Global Screen to broadcasters in France, Benelux, Denmark, Lithuania and Eastern Europe.

France Télévisions licensed the free-TV rights and will premiere the show early next year on France 3 in prime time. Just Entertainment went for the video, pay-TV and VOD rights. Free-TV and VOD rights are also headed to Danmarks Radio TV in Denmark, FTV Prima in the Czech Republic and LRT in Lithuania. HBO Europe took the pay-TV and VOD rights for all of Eastern Europe.

Alexandra Heidrich, the head of TV sales and acquisitions at Global Screen, said: “We are thrilled with the first sales for this outstanding program, coming from one of the most prolific production companies of Germany, Wiedemann und Berg (Academy Award [winner] for The Lives of Others). It is a rare gem when a universal topic like the true story behind Adidas and Puma meets fantastic actors and high production value and we are confident that our clients will air the show with great success.”
