PARIS: Canal+ in France has picked up Dori Media’s Argentine crime drama El Marginal.

Created by Sebastian Ortega and co-produced by Underground Producciones and TV Publica, the show premiered in Argentina this summer and has been licensed by Dori Media into Latin America, the U.K., Spain, Portugal and the U.S.

“Canal+ is a premium pay-TV channel that provides its subscribers with access to the highest quality content,” said Nadav Palti, the CEO of Dori Media. “The sale of El Marginal is, therefore, a ringing endorsement of the quality of the show. We are delighted with the show’s success in 2016, particularly its ratings success in Argentina, which we fully expect to see replicated when it is broadcast in France.”

Diane Reynald, the head of acquisitions for TV programming at Canal+, added, “We are very happy to be adding El Marginal to our foreign drama lineup. This new series will appeal to our subscribers, who are always excited to discover original programs from different countries.”
