Danish Drama 1864 Picked Up for the U.S.

The Danish drama 1864 has been licensed by MHz Networks to launch in the U.S. on its streaming service MHz Choice.

Shot as a feature film and available as eight episodes, it tells a story of love in the time of war, reaching across eras to connect individual lives, confront a nation’s trauma and examine the events of this epic war that formed the self-image of Denmark. “Danish New Wave” director Ole Bornedal read the letters of soldiers to create a factual account.

1864 features an all-star Danish cast, including Sidse Babett Knudsen (Borgen, Westworld), Pilou Asbæk (Borgen, Game of Thrones, The Borgias), Jakob Oftebro (Kon-tikiMax Manus) and Søren Malling (Government, A Royal Affair).
