Caracol Televisión and Propagate are working together to bring the hit Colombian series The Girl (La Niña) to the U.S. for FX.

Written by Juana Uribe (Pablo Escobar, the Drug Lord; Bolivar, Una Lucha Admirable), the drama features the story of a young girl who struggles to reintegrate into society after having been forcibly recruited by the Colombian guerilla and witnessing the horrors of war. The series has been sold in more than 60 countries.

Lisette Osorio, Caracol Televisión’s VP of international sales, said: “At Caracol, we are committed to writing universal stories that can be adapted in every market. We are very pleased to associate again with Propagate and FX to take the adaptation of one of our most successful series to U.S. screens.”

“Propagate’s objective is to bring the world’s best stories to the United States market and beyond,” said Ben Silverman, chairman and co-CEO of Propagate.

Howard T. Owens, Propagate co-CEO, added: “We feel very pleased to work with our partners Caracol, FX and Hilary Bettis on the adaptation of The Girl for the American market.”
