The Channel 4 drama Ackley Bridge has been licensed to broadcasters in Spain and Portugal by all3media international.

The six-part series, produced by The Forge for the U.K.’s Channel 4, debuted in June and has been recommissioned for a further two seasons. Ackley Bridge has now been picked up by Comunidad Filmin for Spain (SVOD, pay-TV first window) and RTP for Portugal. In addition, Dazzler Media acquired DVD/video rights for the U.K.

Stephen Driscoll, the executive VP for EMEA at all3media international, commented, “In Ackley Bridge, The Forge have successfully delivered an authentic, entertaining and contemporary view of multi-cultural life, combining character-driven stories with sharp wit and topical real-life issues that are relevant around the world. The drama has been well received in the U.K. by critics and viewers alike, and continued to attract almost double the slot average audience figures for Channel 4 amongst the 16-to-34 age demographic. It’s rewarding that Spain and Portugal have seen the appeal of this series, and the recent recommission of two new seasons means we’ll be able to confirm further acquisitions soon.”
