Sphère Média Plus Names Head of Development

TORONTO: Tara Woodbury has joined Sphère Média Plus (19-2) in the newly created role of head of development for English-language productions, effective immediately.

Woodbury will be in charge of the production company’s development strategy, sourcing and developing new projects and IP, and maintaining relationships with broadcasters, agents, writers and other creatives. She will be based in Toronto, reporting to Virginia Rankin, executive producer, and the company’s founder and president, Jocelyn Deschenes.

Most recently, Woodbury served as director of development for Amaze Film + Television, overseeing the domestic and international scripted slate, including two seasons of the The Stanley Dynamic for YTV. She has also developed projects with CBC, Bell Media, Corus, Nickelodeon and Disney International.

“We are excited to have Tara join our team in English-language development,” said Rankin. “She brings a wealth of experience and fresh energy to an exciting time in television, both in Canada and internationally.”
