TORONTO: Principal photography has begun for Epic Studios, a 13-episode web series for Maker Studios starring YouTube celebrity EpicLLOYD (a.k.a. Lloyd Ahlquist).

iThentic, Farmhouse Productions and duopoly are producing Epic Studios for Maker Studios in association with the Independent Production Fund (IPF) and the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC). Photography will wrap in early June and the series is set for a September release. The character-driven comedy follows adrift loser and closet rapper Lloyd Steflan (portrayed by EpicLLOYD). He inherits a failing music studio and returns to Toronto to restore the business to its former glory.

Epic Studios was created by Jill Goslicky, Aaron Krebs and Lloyd Ahlquist, co-creator of the online series Epic Rap Battles of History. The show was written by Josh Gal (Working The Engels) and Amanda Brooke Perrin (Spun Out). It is directed by Rob Stefaniuk (Phil the Alien, Suck, Anxietyville). Guest stars will include Kevin MacDonald (Kids in the Hall) and Adam Rodness (Hemlock Grove).
