Andrew Spergel, a former Entertainment One (eOne) exec, has been named executive VP of Boat Rocker Ventures.

In his newly created position, Spergel will oversee an expanded Boat Rocker Ventures team. His duties include collaborating with management to bolster the growth of certain Boat Rocker entities, including JamFilled Entertainment and new digital ventures, while also leading M&A strategy efforts across all of Boat Rocker Media. He will work under Michel Pratte, the company’s chief revenue officer.

Previously, Spergel served in several senior strategy, M&A and business development roles at eOne, most recently as senior VP of corporate development and strategy. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant for Bain & Company.

The Boat Rocker Ventures team has also appointed Eric Taitz, who most recently worked at Netflix and previously Merrill Lynch, as director. In addition, Lauren McConnell has been elevated to the post of director.

Pratte commented: “Andrew’s deep expertise and strong business acumen across all media platforms will help us accelerate our next wave of growth by bolstering our organic growth, M&A and strategic venture investment capabilities. We are excited to welcome this new team, under Andrew’s leadership, as we build on Boat Rocker’s global expansion and increased IP ownership initiatives.”
