TORONTO: CTV has picked up a slew of new U.S. dramas from the L.A. Screenings, adding to its schedule the Kiefer Sutherland-led Designated Survivor, legal series Conviction and relationship-themed This is Us.

Alongside Designated Survivor, Conviction and This is Us, CTV acquired the legal drama Notorious, which stars Piper Perabo. Training Day, a reimagining of the film of the same name, is also headed to CTV.

Further pickups include The Exorcist, a modern reinvention of the 1971 book that was later adapted as a feature film; Time After Time, based on the novel and movie of the same name; and American Housewife, a comedy starring Katy Mixon.

“Original, emotional, supercharged and salacious, next season’s lineup is without question a game-changing collection of titles,” said Mike Cosentino, the senior VP of programming at CTV Networks and CraveTV. “We can’t wait to introduce this next wave of Hollywood hits to advertisers next week and millions of Canadians this fall.”
