A fifth season of the hit culinary show MasterChef Canada is slated for broadcast on Bell Media’s CTV, with food experts Michael Bonacini, Alvin Leung and Claudio Aprile returning as judges.

MasterChef Canada looks on as home cooks compete for the chance to win a cash prize. The 12-episode new season will begin production in the fall for broadcast on CTV during the 2017-18 season. Casting for the show, which is produced by Proper Television, is taking place in Toronto until September 17. The MasterChef format and finished programs are sold internationally by Endemol Shine Group.

“We are delighted to set the table for season five of MasterChef Canada and to welcome the next group of talented home cooks looking to make their culinary dreams a reality,” said Corrie Coe, the senior VP of original programming at Bell Media. “We are proud of our continued collaboration with exceptionally talented production partners Proper Television and Endemol Shine Group, and look forward to creating an all-new season of the internationally recognized MasterChef format with, as always, an irresistible Canadian flavor.”

“Canadians continue to make MasterChef Canada one of the most popular programs on television,” added Mike Cosentino, the senior VP of content and programming at Bell Media. “We are happy to return such a powerful and beloved CTV franchise to the schedule with season five set for spring 2018.”
