TORONTO: Kew Media Group is planning to acquire six content companies, including Content Media Corporation, Frantic Films and Bristow Global Media.

Alongside Content, Frantic and Bristow, Kew has proposed the acquisition of 100 percent of Architect Films, Media Headquarters Film & Television and Our House Media. The six content companies have a library of more than 6,000 hours sold in 150-plus countries. The Kew platform will also include five companies controlled by Content Media Corporation: Aito Media, Campfire Film & Television, Collins Avenue Productions, Jigsaw Productions and Spirit Digital Media.

Kew has secured a private placement of $20 million from its current shareholders, as well as new investors, to purchase shares at $10 each. Completion of the transaction is expected in March.

“We are content guys, it’s what we love, it’s what we do,” said Kew’s principals, Steven Silver and Peter Sussman. “There has never been a better time to be in the content business. We are incredibly excited by the companies we have brought together in Kew. It is a perfect platform for growth and further acquisitions.”

Following the acquisition, Silver and Sussman will continue to lead the business as CEO and executive chairman, respectively. Content Media Corporation’s current management team will remain in place under CEO John Schmidt.
