The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Colombia’s Proimágenes and MinTIC have revealed the recipients of nearly C$300,000 ($240,000) in funding through the Canada-Colombia co-development incentive for web series and other digital media projects.

Among the four projects receiving funding as part of this incentive is Collab, which received C$73,897 ($59,140) and comes from Canada’s Little Window Productions and Colombia’s Viceversa Cine. The Condor, from Canada’s Saturn Animation Studios and Colombia’s Signos Studio, is getting C$74,422 ($59,560). The other titles are Garden of Vision (Canada’s Deep Inc. and Colombia’s 4 Direcciones) and Kidnapped (Canada’s Signal Space and Colombia’s Explora Films), which are receiving C$74,493 ($59,620) and C$64,018 ($51,250), respectively.

Projects were evaluated and chosen by a selection committee that included representatives from both funding organizations. They were required to be a collaboration involving at least one eligible Canadian producer and at least one eligible Colombian producer.

In other news, the CMF unveiled an investment of C$5.5 million ($4.4 million) to 14 convergent projects that applied for funding through the 2017-18 English Point-of-View (POV) Program. The initiative is meant to encourage one-off point-of-view documentary production in the English-language market. All projects are feature-length; two are from British Columbia, one comes from Nova Scotia, seven are from Ontario and four come from Québec.
