CMF Funding for Digital Media Projects

TORONTO: The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has awarded C$14.3 million ($10.3 million) to 24 interactive digital media projects as part of the second round of production support from the 2015-2016 Experimental Stream.

The Experimental Stream is meant to encourage the creation of innovative, interactive digital media content and software applications. Consumers will be able to access various new interactive digital media content, including 15 games, three platforms using virtual reality and six software applications. The 24 productions comprise two from British Columbia, one from Newfoundland and Labrador, one from Nova Scotia, four from Ontario and sixteen from Québec.

With this round of funding included, the CMF has already provided more than C$144 million ($104 million) in production support to more than 250 projects since the Experimental Stream was established in 2010.
