The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has invested more than C$6.2 million ($4.9 million) in development and marketing support to 27 innovative digital media projects.
The investment is part of the 2017-18 second round of funding of the Experimental Stream Innovation Program. Nineteen Canadian companies received support totaling C$4.2 million ($3.3 million) to develop 12 games, five rich interactive media applications and two software applications. The CMF contributed C$2 million ($1.6 million) in marketing support to eight interactive digital media projects, of which two are games, three are rich interactive media applications and three are software applications.
Since the Experimental Stream was created in 2010, the CMF has contributed more than C$77.5 million ($61.8 million) in development and marketing support to 354 interactive digital media projects.
