TORONTO: Canada’s CBC has renewed its original shows Still Standing and Baroness von Sketch Show.

Starring comedian Jonny Harris, Still Standing has been renewed for a third 13×30-minute season, with production currently underway. Meanwhile, the all-female sketch comedy series Baroness von Sketch Show has been renewed for a 7×30-minute second season. Production on that show will begin this fall.

Produced by Frantic Films in association with CBC, both series will return in 2017.

“We are thrilled to announce that Baroness von Sketch Show and Still Standing will be returning to next year’s prime-time lineup,” said Sally Catto, the general manager of programming at CBC Television. “These original series have won over audiences and critics alike, and are a testament to CBC’s continued investment in funny, engaging and innovative premium content that resonates with Canadians across the country.”

“The creative teams behind these series have hit it out of the park and we’re thrilled that audiences are responding to their great work,” said executive producer and Frantic CEO, Jamie Brown. “Our partnership with CBC has been a true collaboration and the support and promotion they have provided for both shows has been incredible.”
