TORONTO/WELLINGTON: The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and NZ On Air have revealed that three digital media co-production projects will receive C$1 million ($769,000) as part of a financing incentive under the Canada-New Zealand Digital Media Fund.

Currently in its second year, the partnership between the CMF and NZ On Air funds eligible digital media co-productions by producers from Canada and New Zealand. The three projects receiving support from the Canada-New Zealand Digital Media Fund are Curious Critters, produced by La Boîte à Pitons in Canada and Yoozoo in New Zealand; Mythical Creatures, from Arcana Studio in Canada and Kiwa Digital in New Zealand; and Fierce Girls, from Mamaoo Pictures in Canada and Awatea Tech in New Zealand.

The program is designed to encourage creative producers from the two countries to collaborate on digital-media productions. The initiative funds projects that use new technologies to tell culturally relevant stories.
