Smithsonian Channel HD to Debut in Asia

SINGAPORE: Smithsonian Channel HD, featuring original programming focused on a variety of historical, scientific and cultural topics, is slated to become available for the first time in Asia on Singapore’s StarHub TV.

Smithsonian Channel HD will launch on StarHub TV on September 27. The network will be offered in the Education Basic HD Upsize package. A free preview will become available to all StarHub TV customers with HD set-top boxes from launch until October 10 at 12 p.m. Non-StarHub TV subscribers will be able to access the channel on their mobile devices through Go Select on StarHub Go for a monthly fee.

Among the upcoming titles premiering on Smithsonian Channel HD are Islands of Creations (September 29 at 6 p.m.), Asian Tsunami: The Deadliest Wave (October 15 at 8 p.m.), Uncommon Courage: Breakout at Chosin (October 10 at 9 p.m.), Unbelievable Flying Objects (October 11 at 8 p.m.), Aerial America (September 28 at 7 p.m.) and Million Dollar American Princesses (September 28 at 10 a.m.).
