Indian streaming platform Hotstar is renewing its partnership with Awesomeness in a deal that brings series such as Freakish and Confess to its premium library.
The partnership is part of Hotstar’s ongoing strategy to bring global content to India and will see the two companies work together to attract Gen Z audiences through Awesomeness’s programming. In addition to the horror show Freakish and the love story Confess, the agreement also brings the modern-day thriller T@gged to the Hotstar Premium library.
The first two seasons of Freakish are currently available to stream on Hotstar Premium, while season one of Confess is available on the platform. The first two seasons of T@gged are also on Hotstar Premium, with season three due to premiere next year.
“We are thrilled to renew our partnership with Hotstar and continue the expansion of our brand in this market,” said Rebecca Glashow, the head of worldwide distribution at Awesomeness. “Hotstar’s audience of 60 million users provides us with the opportunity to expand our reach and deliver on our promise of bringing the Gen Z audience the best and most creative programming, no matter where they are.”
