Fox Networks Group Asia (FNGA) is hosting the first Taiwanese edition of the Fox Creative Lab, which aims to develop emerging talent in the region.

Fox Creative Lab: Taiwan 2018 kicked off this week with six creatives—Li Nien-Hsiu, Sean Chen, Charles Sun, Howard Cheng, Laha Chen and Jimmy Hsu—heading to Los Angeles for master classes; meetings with showrunners, directors and senior execs from FX, National Geographic Partners, Fox Television Studios and 20th Century Fox Television; and the L.A. Screenings. When they get back to Taiwan they will have an intensive six-week course on developing original material, honing their writing skills and navigating the TV and film studio business. At the end of the program, the six participants will be able to pitch original concepts to FNGA in a bid to secure a development deal.

Zubin Gandevia, the president of the Asia Pacific and the Middle East at FNGA, said, “FNGA has always been a key player in the Chinese content ecosystem. Of late with the support of our Global Inclusion team and creative/production executives in L.A., we have ramped up our efforts by launching this first-ever, fully immersive Fox Creative Lab, a synergistic initiative in furthering our Chinese content investment. We are particularly thrilled to have six Taiwanese creative talents who come from diverse backgrounds and unique experiences joining the Lab. We hope they will have a fun, engaging and fruitful time with us. We look forward to working closely with the fellows, and playing a part in their pursuit for inspiration and creativity in storytelling.”
